We learned about educational settings and modes of instruction during this module. Reading through what each of these means recalled ways in which I could reach more families in creative ways.

Using the nonformal and informal settings will be what I foresee using the most. An example in how I can use nonformal settings would be a miniseries on behavior for teachers and asking the teachers to relay the information to their families of the students in their classes. Another way to use this setting would be to have an informational session and invite parents to attend that live in the community and education them on different behaviors and how they can handle them with their children.

A way in which I could use informal would be to supply a brochure or handout to go with the sessions that are being offered. I could also send out infographics via emails to those that want to continue to get information on a session that they attended.

The mass mode would be used if sending out a mass email to multiple people but was over a specific topic. The group mode would be used in a gathering of people, such as an educational meeting that is over a specific topic. The group would have the opportunity to listen to a speaker and then have times during the speech to talk in smaller groups about what they are learning. This would help with the topic really being understood by the attendance of the meeting. Individual mode could be used to educate families with an in-home visit, provide resources based on the needs of the family and teach them how to use those resources.

Educational Settings and Modes of Instruction will be very important moving forward in our future careers as Certified Family Life Educators.
